Tax relief for electricity etc from home-run business

Postby GoochiPooch » Mon Aug 18, 2014 9:14 am

Please could someone help me with a question I have. Myself and my partner run a Dog Grooming business from our home (which is a rented property) and I read on the HMRC website that I could claim relief on electricity, heating and water used for running the business as well as a portion of the rent for the single room we use for the business. Could anyone please advise me on how I would work this out without using a flat rate for Simplified Expenses? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

What proportion (space/time) of your home is used for the business?
