Postby poshgaffer on Sat Aug 27, 2005 12:01 pm

Hello,

Please could someone clarify the percentage one can apportion to accounts for use of electricty etc whilst trading at home?

Kind regards,

Can you help?
I read the conversation above and it doesnt quite cover the issues I have!
I am currently office based, but the company I work for have decided to close the office Im based in, and have asked me to work from home. I have agreed, on principal, to do this, but it also means I have to move. I currently rent a property which is not large enough to accomodate a desk/pc/office set up. Thats one issue. The other is that working from home, I will obviously use more electricty, heating (certainly with the winter approaching), water, etc, etc.
I want to know how I stand re tax relief on utilities (NB: I will be based at home, but travel to the London office 1-2 times weekly). I will also be given support, ie £500 towards cost of moving, and possibly the same amount towards a home office set up - desk, chair, printer, etc
Thank you in advance for your help!
Nikki
