TAx saving for doctors

TAx saving for doctors

Postby fehawkes on Tue Aug 17, 2010 1:38 pm

Hi,

I just wanted to ask if there are ways where I could save tax for a doctor client - not a GP.
He has income from employment and he has formed a Ltd Co where his profits are between £130 - £150K. Is there any way I could save him tax?

THanks

What does his Ltd Co do?
Do you adore to transfer your artistic and inventive qualities to renovate a part type? Perhaps your friends who tour your sanctuary head remarks about want they could levy you to change their premises.

Hi,
Thanks for the reply. He has 2 Ltd co's - one does reporting and the other does operations. The reporting one is vat registered.
Thanks

I am reading this that he is both employed and has his two limited companies. If the scenario is that he is employed by the NHS and doing some additional consultancy work through his ltds (possibly for the same or other NHS Trusts) then you need to be very very careful that he's not caught by IR35. Rather than saving him money this could cost him dearly.

You can't expect to come on with such a wooly statement and get some sensible replies. If you're out of your depth then you should pass the client on to someone who knows the sector. Sorry for being blunt but I'm just gald I'm not your client.

Hi,
Thanks but I have checked and he is not caught by IR35 as he is doing the reporting for various insurance companies.

Fair point. But what about the operations ? This is usually where IR35 kicks in, especially if the consultant has a duty to patrol wards for pre and post op care for his (or rather the hospital's patients).
