Transfer of Funds into ISA

Postby sigmund » Thu Mar 02, 2017 6:58 pm

I would be most grateful if someone could help me with the following query as I do not want to end up being charged Capital gains tax on the transaction.

I have used up my CGT allowance for 2016-17 tax year. However, I hold some unit trust (OEIC) funds that are ISA eligible. If I transfer some of those funds into my 2016-17 stocks and shares ISA account (where I have not used my full allowance) would this trigger a CGT liability? The intention is to TRANSFER the funds not to sell the funds and buy something else in my ISA.

You can’t transfer any non-ISA shares you already own into an ISA unless they’re from an employee share scheme.
With a pinch of salt take what I say, but don't exceed your RDA
