Treaty resident of France

Treaty resident of France

Hi,

Am I correct in thinking that if you have no permanent home in the UK (except for mothers spare room) and a permanent home in France (rented house) then you would be treaty resident of France? I work for a UK airline but am based and operate from France, very little work in the UK, just 5 days of training per year. If I return to work in the UK before April 5th 2012 then I won't have been working full time abroad for a full tax year and dont wish to pay UK tax from the time I left. I understand that I won't pay double tax on the same income but it is very undesirable to pay the extra to HMRC above what I would owe in France. My ties to the UK are limited in terms of social and domestic issues tho I do have bank accounts and loans etc. I have no property in the UK. I also understand that working aboard an aircraft can complicate the issue.

Thanks for your time

David

With a pinch of salt take what I say, but don't exceed your RDA
