UK and Russia - Double taxation treaty

UK and Russia - Double taxation treaty

Postby Nick12345 on Sun Sep 04, 2011 12:10 am

Hi,

I am trying to decipher the double taxation arrangements between Russia and the UK and would appreciate your help.

1) How will dividends paid by a Russian corporate entity to a UK corporate entity be treated for tax purposes in view of the double taxation treaty between Russia and the UK?

2) Is there withholding tax payable with respect to dividends by a UK company paid to an offshore jurisdiction such as Belize, Cayman Islands or Jersey?

Many thanks,

Regards,

Nick

1. Potential Russian withholding taxon the dividends of 10%.

2. No UK withholding tax levied on the dividend payments.
