UK pension - years of residency for an expat

Postby sam2henry on Fri Jan 21, 2011 11:31 am

Not sure if I am in the right part of the forum for this question.
I am 55 and lived overseas for the last 18 years. What with university, unemployment etc I have not many years of NI contributions but I was about to top up by paying my class 3 contributions for the last 6 years. However I now read that entitlement to UK pension is to change to be based on years of residency. Is it even worth me topping up, and will I now not be entitled to this pension?
