I understand agree with section 44 response. If a person becomes unemployed and then claims job seekers allowance then you do not pay anything but this depends on the circumstances whether they have been dismiss unfairly etc.
A person can get jobseekers allowance if you fire them or they quit but there are there are restrictions on jobseeker's allowance if you voluntarily cease employment.
