I mostly use free content. Here's the sites I use most frequently:
IRS info - www.irs.gov
US tax code - http://www.fourmilab.ch/ustax/ustax.html
for currency spot rates - www.oanda.com
for currency annual rates - http://www.federalreserve.gov/RELEASES/g5a/
historical stock prices - http://finance.yahoo.com/q/hp?s=GE
Bradley Smith's Amazing and Still Free All-You-Wanted-To-Know-About-US-Corporate-Foreign-Taxation-But -Were-Afraid-To-Ask Site (requires some user competence) - http://www.intltaxlaw.com/
US Regulations (incomplete) - www.taxalmanac.org
tax news - www.accounting.web
tax news - http://tax.cchgroup.com/news/default.asp?PageID=4
tax news - http://www.irs.gov/newsroom/content/0,,id=103381,00.html
For paid ones, I like: CCH - Lexus Nexus - RIA - Tax Analyst. Of these four, Tax Analyst is the cheapest but it's also the most annoying search engine. Lexus Nexus is the best but the price tag is Big Four size.
