Hi,

I would like to leave my daughter money in my will, but I am concerned that her partner (they are not married)will spend the lot in a irresponsible manner. Is there anything I can do to protect my childs inheritance. My daughter also has one child by her partner.

Before this question can be answered, how do you expect your daughter to be able to use the money if her partner cannot? Would you like your daughter to be entitled to just the income, with the capital held in a trust?

You can set up a discretionary trust through your estate, with (a) trustee(s)to run it in accordance with your wishes.
