Using your tax libility to sponsor an individual/group

Is it correct that a Company may sponsor a worthy cause with it's tax liability? i.e instead of paying the Inland Revenue make the payment to a "worthy cause". Do you have an further info?

This is not true. Charitable payments can reduce the profits chargeable to corporation tax but not the tax liability itself.
