Valuation for depreciation purposes

Valuation for depreciation purposes

Postby pieta on Wed Dec 07, 2011 8:43 am

Hi I have a query regarding a valuation needed on chattels of a rental property for Australian tax purposes. Unfortunately in Australia one cannot just deduct 10 per cent of the rental income for depreciation purposes if the property is furnished. One has to provide a value of all the components including furniture, carpeting, air conditioners etc.

Does anyone know a co. in the UK that provides such a valuation service on chattels? What makes it more difficult is the value needs to be retrospectives as at 3 March 2008. The properties in question are located in London.

Many thanks

A capital allowances expert would be my choice.
