VAT registration and selling outside the EU

Postby dijital » Sat Dec 24, 2016 2:00 pm

Hi all,

I am about to start a business, I will be selling within the EU and outside it.

Now I know the VAT registration threshold is £83,000 so anything sold above that within the EU will be subject to VAT, but what if say, £60,000 is made outside the EU and £24,000 is made within the EU ?

Do I have to register for VAT? Or is the total calculated from EU turnover only?

Thanks.

Hi

Yes they will count as part of the VAT threshold and you will need to charge UK VAT to your EU Customers

Please beware of the distance selling thresholds and you could end up having to register in that country should you exceed those thresholds

Kind Regards
