If we make improvements to our office building such as painting ,decorating and the installation of unmovable partitioning etc can we get capital allowances on any of it or can we get relief through the profit and loss account?

Possibly yes to both- it is worth employing a capital allowances expert if the costs are greater than £10,000 to ensure you get the maximum claim.
