Working from home

Postby CALTD on Sat Dec 31, 2005 12:56 pm

I was wondering if any claim for Capital Allowances could be made here:

Work mainly at home and spent about £10000 putting up a large conservatory with main aim of creating more house space and a work office area as part of it. In the work area(about 1/6 of the space) there is table,IT equip cabinets etc. Is there any way that you could claim a proportion of the cost of construction etc as being for business.(Work as an IFA)

Thank you for any help given

In a word, NO.
You can claim the IT equipment, desk etc but not construction costs (especially a consevatory!)
