Peter Arrowsmith, lead writer on National Insurance Contributions
PETER ARROWSMITH, FCA has practised since early 1998 as a National Insurance contributions specialist to provide technical backup, mainly to fellow practising accountants who may not have in-house expertise in this ever more complicated area.
He has a wide breadth of accountancy and tax experience having trained and qualified in 1978 as a Chartered Accountant with a top ten firm. He first began to specialise in National Insurance in 1977.
He also speaks and writes extensively on the subject. He was a member of the Tax Faculty's National Insurance committee from 1988 to 1999 and is now Chairman of the replacement Employer Issues committee. He is also consultant editor to the Tolley's National Insurance Contributions annual and Tolley's Practical NIC monthly newsletter.
His aim is to provide technical support on National Insurance contributions and directly related matters for:
- The accountancy and legal professions
- Employers
- Publishers and training organisations
The consultancy service operates flexibly and cost-effectively and can offer personal meetings, telephone/'helpline' advice, written advice, 'clinic' meetings, second opinions, etc. Often issues can be discussed immediately on the telephone.
Peter also provides writing, lecturing and training services, including in-house training to firms of accountants. A moderately sized firm with a few offices who can get together 15-20 staff/partners would find an in-house training session cost effective and the precise subject matters can be tailored to your own requirements having regard to the type of clients in your practice and the industries they serve.
He also now offers a PAYE/NIC 'healthcheck' facility for advisers' clients.
