We work closely with the press, not only informing them of interesting developments in the tax world, but also seeking their ideas on the topics they would like us to explore. As a result of such cooperation, we have run press-commissioned online surveys and had journalists asking tax professionals for their budget predictions on the Tax Tips Forum. New In-House Publication Launched

TaxationWeb, a tax website for UK taxpayers and professional advisers, today announced the launch of its own magazine for taxpayers.

'Tax Insider' was previously an established 'e-zine' and website aimed at taxpayers looking for legitimate opportunities to reduce their tax liabilities. The launch of a hard copy magazine coincides with TaxationWeb's acquisition of a major interest in the publication.

TaxationWeb was launched in 2002, and is now the UK's leading independent website devoted to tax matters.

Co-founder and Managing Editor Mark McLaughlin is a Chartered Tax Adviser and a well-known author of tax books and articles.

Mark McLaughlin said: "Everyone at TaxationWeb is delighted to have secured Tax Insider as our own in-house publication. TaxationWeb has always been pleased and proud to give taxpayers help through facilities such as news, articles and a very popular forum. Tax Insider fulfils our ambition to offer to reward our loyal community of taxpayers with an excellent new resource."

Amer Siddiq, founder of Tax Insider said: "Tax Insider is an easy to read tax magazine which helps UK taxpayers, who have no or limited tax knowledge to lower their taxes. Given TaxationWeb's impressive standing in the tax community and powerful brand name, I am delighted that TaxationWeb got involved with Tax Insider to provide yet another great value added and tax saving service to it's growing and loyal following."

To mark the launch of Tax Insider, TaxationWeb is offering first issue at £3.97 (standard monthly subscription price is £9.97). You can download a FREE sample issue of Tax Insider Lite: www.taxationweb.co.uk/taxinsider_lite_42.pdf

TORUS and TaxationWeb announce partnership

TORUS, the International Lawyers, Accountants and Taxation Consultants Association and TaxationWeb, the UK's largest independent tax portal, today announced an agreement to work together on advancing the levels of knowledge and understanding of international tax law.

The agreement will see TORUS (www.torus.org) support TaxationWeb's International Tax section (www.taxationweb.co.uk/international), with their members providing topical news and articles. The agreement is expected to enhance awareness of TORUS and its objectives, and increase the number of international tax advisers, lawyers, accountants and business consultants joining their organisation.

Announcing the working agreement earlier today, Mark McLaughlin, General Editor of TaxationWeb, said: "We are delighted to welcome TORUS to TaxationWeb. Their members will significantly enhance the international tax section of our website, which is becoming increasingly popular among visitors. We expect that this activity will bring TORUS to the attention of a greater numbers of consultants than ever before."

Brian Broadbridge, President of TORUS, added: "TaxationWeb is a constantly improving platform for tax information which meets highest professional standards. With the expertise of TORUS legal, accounting and taxation consultants in various European countries we will be able to contribute significantly to TaxationWeb's International Tax section."

Torus is an international association of independent firms of accountants, lawyers, tax advisors and specialist consultants, with members throughout Europe. It aims to ensure that its members have access to professional advice through the co-operation and expertise of fellow members or colleagues throughout Europe.

The Association has been formed to facilitate its members and their clients with direct personal access to information and guidance from local professional advisers, both domestically and internationally. Such unbridled access to professional advice had previously only been available to larger firms and organisations.

Torus members are able to Aprovide their clients - individuals as well as businesses - with a depth of professional advice only possible as a result of the combined experience of its members. Torus members meet regularly, attending workshops and regional events, where they can network with colleagues and exchange ideas, approaches and technical information from different jurisdictions. This close personal contact leads to obvious benefits for members and their clients.

Meetings are held throughout Europe and future meetings are planned for Amsterdam, Barcelona, Frankfurt and London.

Membership is available to individuals and small- to medium-sized firms. TaxationWeb takes on lecturers' and writers' showcase

A web-based directory of tax lecturers and writers has been acquired by TaxationWeb.

The Tax Lecturers’ and Writers’ Association (TLWO) showcases lecturers, writers, trainers and commentators. Gerry Hart, a former president of the Chartered Institute of Taxation, founded the TLWO and runs it with co-director Louise Pinfold, editor of Tolley’s Tax Planning.

Hart said many lecturers and writers had received new work via the TLWO. Eighty-one service providers on the database have been informed that the TLWO will be transferred to form part of TaxationWeb’s growing online services.

TaxationWeb Director Mark McLaughlin said the transfer of the TLWO service was a sign of TaxationWeb's growing importance and the respect it had earned within the tax profession.
