A quick guide to recent additions to the HM Revenue & Customs website.
Week ending 17 August What’s new? - HMRC Brief 57/07, which contains an article: Disclosure of avoidance schemes: New information powers;
- Employer PAYE Nil payment notifications - new online service now available;
- Note that the UK/Macedonia Double Taxation Agreement entered into force on 8 August 2007;
- Negligible value list updated to 31 July 2007;
- Updated Qualifying Recognised Overseas Pension Schemes (QROPS) list;
- HMRC Anti-Avoidance Group - additional information added to web pages to include details about the group and how to identify avoidance to support existing material;
- List of recognised stock exchanges designated for the purposes of section 48A FA 2005 (alternative finance investment bonds);
- SDLT Technical News (Issue 5), which contains information relating to: SDLT Finance Act 2007 changes, Finance Act 2007 measure in relation to form SDLT 60, Section 75A Finance Act 2003, Partnership Property, and the extension to SDLT Code of Practice 10;
- The offshore funds information pages have been updated in line with FA2007;
- VAT Notice 732: Annual accounting, Update 1 (July 2007) - clarifies the rules on making payments and leaving the scheme. The postal address for application forms and Direct Debit instructions has also changed;
- VAT Information Sheet 11/07: Accounting for VAT on standard-rated prescription products; and
- Remote gaming duty - Information sheet aimed at anyone who may be liable to pay the duty (which comes into effect from 1 September 2007) and explains how the duty will work and how to apply for registration.
