A quick guide to recent additions to the HM Revenue & Customs website.

Week ending 19 October

What’s new?

  • new Inheritance Tax (IHT) form D21, application for an Inheritance Tax reference;
  • update to the income tax rates and allowances page to reflect the Government's announcement of the personal allowances for 2008-09;
  • draft Stamp Duty Land Tax (Zero-Carbon Homes Relief) Regulations 2007 and draft explanatory memorandum;
  • details of changes to stamp duty and stamp duty reserve tax intermediary and stock lending relief legislation, which takes effect from I November 2007;
  • PEP & ISA Bulletin 42;
  • the UK/USA Double Taxation Convention - Competent Authority Agreement – Definition of First Notification under Article 26(1) is now available;
  • update to Online Services Q&A - the Q&As arising from workshops for agents have been updated and added to;
  • proposed changes to Fixed Term Employees - DWP Ministers have decided to take steps to amend the Fixed Term Employees (Prevention of less favourable treatment) Regulations 2002;
  • Making a difference: clarity and certainty - HMRC is on track to deliver its commitment to the 2006 Review of Links with Large Business and has published 'Making a Difference: Clarity and Certainty';
  • Shared Workspace Online Service - Shared Workspace is a service that gives businesses and Agents the opportunity to work with HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC) online;
  • Pension Schemes Services have published a new version of the user guide for Scheme Administrators and Practitioners using the Pension Scheme Online Service; and
  • VAT Notes No 3 2007 - items in this edition include: Partial exemption VAT deduction by theatres on production costs. Do you deal with the supply and installation of mobility aids for the elderly? Do you supply leisure facilities? Decision in the Highland Council case. Changes to the VAT invoicing regulations.
