Getting to grips with tax, VAT and national insurance should become a whole lot easier for businesses in Northamptonshire, thanks to a free Business Advice Open Day being run by HMRC on 15 May.

A wealth of free guidance and practical help will be on offer to small and medium sized enterprises from over 20 organisations joining together at the Aviator Hotel, Sywell Northamptonshire, on Thursday, 15 May 2008.

The Business Advice Open Day will include up to 30 stands and 24, 45-minute seminars on specialist topics including environment law, self-employment, age legislation and developing your business. It will be a unique opportunity to obtain quality advice in a relaxed and informal setting, with one-to-one advice available at a 'drop in centre' when individuals' concerns can be discussed in private.

Roger Lovell, HMRC's Business Liaison Team Manager, said:

"This is an event not to be missed. This Open Day allows us and our partners to bring advice directly to the Northamptonshire business community.

"There are hundreds of small and medium sized enterprises in Northamptonshire and the surrounding areas. Having so many organisations under one roof gives us a chance to be a 'one stop shop' for this important audience, offering advice that will help make running a successful business that bit easier."

The HMRC Business Advice Open Day runs from 9.00am to 4.00pm on Thursday 15 May 2008, at the Aviator Hotel, Sywell Northamptonshire. Entry to the event is free of charge and you do not have to book to attend the main exhibition. Places at seminars are, however, limited and can quickly become oversubscribed. You can book places in advance online at http://www.businessadviceday.gov.uk.
