LITRG tells us about its new website – Revenuebenefits – which is aimed at advisers and provides reference material on tax credits and other HMRC-administered benefits.

Tax and tax credits complexities

Taxes are complex, but tax credits are even more so. There is wide array of advisers who do not deal with HMRC on a daily basis, but who need to give appropriate and accurate advice to the millions of vulnerable people who are entitled to benefits which are administered by that government department.

Furthermore, there are tax advisers who are used to the ways of HMRC, but for whom the world of tax credits is still a distant and murky place.

The new website, developed by LITRG

In a bid to meet one of its longstanding objectives, LITRG has therefore tried to bring together on one website most of the information that such advisers will need in order to give the best advice possible – www.revenuebenefits.org.uk.

In so doing, LITRG has worked with Rightsnet who are the leading providers of up-to-date information on social welfare law in order to ensure that the site will remain current and relevant.

LITRG is also extremely grateful to HMRC, who have been supportive of this venture in a range of different ways. But the website content is LITRG’s and any mistakes that emerge fall squarely upon them.

LITRG encourages advisers to browse the site and to provide feedback. It has been built with advisers in mind and the aim will be continued improvement if it does not meet those needs.

Please let LITRG know what you think of the new website, by using the contact us page.
