Hello
I appreciate any advice you can give I will not take as financial advice, just looking to ascertain if what I am thinking makes sense and is along correct lines, just so I can get my head around this? Thanks
Anyone in the forum have an idea on this please?
Work fulltime 37.5 hours at top of band 7 for years
I would like to continue working fulltime with retire and return.
60 years old now
No break in service, no SCS
Lets give an approximate that I earn £58,000 per year
I appreciate the tax free allowance would be £12570, then 20% tax from this point until £50270 where thereafter would be 40%
If I requested to take my 1995 salary with larger lump sum, with 28 years in this pension, it would be £99,776 with a monthly pension of £1267
In working full time I am aware I will be paying a lot in tax. Someone posted on here referencing better to have 60% of your monthly pension than nothing if one does not take the pension at 60 as some have done going north of 60 years old.
I am trying to establish if my calculations are correct if anyone could assess if this is making financial sense?
I can earn upto £12570 tax free
Lets say my monthly take home is £3372
My monthly pension is £1272
I cannot work out what will be the tax free allowance part, how much from and to would be 20% and from 20% to 40%?
Or will it all be 40% after the £12570 as the total receiving will be well over the £50270 40% bracket?
In doing this after one if your postees, I began to think, I would be better off because, I would receive my monthly wage plus 60% of the monthly pension, accepting that a lot will be from the 40% tax take
I plan to work until 67
Also as I will still be working, will still contribute 10.7% to my2015 pension
Taking into account NI and pension contribution, would snyone be able to calculate how much this would equate to and how much my monthly take home money would be ( consisting from pay and pension )? Thanks
I do hope you can offer some comments?
Thank you kindly
