Entrepreneurs relief

Postby HallW » Tue Jan 16, 2018 5:18 pm

I own 6.5% of a company where I have worked for about 10 years and I receive dividends. I am retiring later this year and will retain the shares but believe that the company will be sold in about 5 years. What I would like to know is will I be entitled to entrepreneurs relief at the time of the sale or will I forfeit it because I'm no longer an employee or director.

Many thanks in advance for any thoughts/guidance

One of the requirements is that you are an employee or office holder.
