inheritance tax

Postby slovat » Tue Dec 26, 2017 10:39 am

if one dies holding an outstanding debt (say to a relation), does HMRC get to tax that amount twice: first as an asset in the deceased's estate, and second as a gift tax to the person who borrowed?

thanks for the help
