IRS interest

Interest or tax-free repayment supplement paid by HMRC is not considered to be taxable income in the UK. Does the same apply to interest paid by the IRS in the US? i.e is interest paid by the IRS to a UK resident, taxable in the UK?

I see no reason why it would not be UK reportable for an individual on the arising basis.
