Is it possible to find a client's tax return for 2019/20 online?

I need to see a client's old tax return from 2019/20 but in my online services for agents account I can only see available to me the 21/22 year's return. I asked my client to get it for me from his tax account but he says he can't as nothing happens when he clicks the link to access it. I have asked his previous accountant to pass it to me if he has a copy but given his previous failures to supply what I need I don't hold out much hope. Any other possibilities I could try?

Ask HMRC to send you a copy and save yourself all the hassle.

Generally, they only show online if done through HMRC's built-in software. if filed using third party software, I am fairly confident in saying that they don't ever appear.

Thanks. That's interesting to know about the third party software. Makes sense.
