non rented out btl costs

Postby madmum » Fri Mar 02, 2018 11:30 pm

Can anyone answer me as I am confused. Not the first btl we have but the second. The existing btl has been rented out for the extire year this tax year but the second one bought months ago is not. The costs for the second one ? are these deducted in this tax year or are they deducted when the property is let which now looks to be unlikely until next tax year?

You can deduct them this year providing they are revenue and not capital costs
