VAT registration in the UK

Postby staenly » Thu Sep 28, 2017 9:38 am

Hi there, I have a quick question on UK VAT registration requirements. I have a company based in the EU, and I would like to sell some goods via Amazon FBA programme in the UK. Selling via Amazon FBA means that my goods will be supplied to UK customers by/from Amazon warehouse in the UK. Do I need to register for UK VAT if I'm not registered in my own country? If I register in my own country, does it change anything? Many thanks.

The Amazon FBA in the UK means you have a business establishment here, and therefore need to register for VAT.
If you register in your own country, then you would still need to register in the UK. You will only pay VAT once on each supply. There are some solutions for this; e.g: https://www.crossbordervat.com/
