Resident in UK, discretionary trust in US

Postby simonndhearn » Sun Jan 28, 2018 5:05 pm

I received about £5000 from a discretionary trust in the USA and was a resident in the UK in tax year 2016/17.

Do I pay tax on this?

Any help would be massively appreciated as I cant get my head around it all.
Simon.

I am a "beneficiary" of the trust, if that helps

Are you a US person? According to the K-1, what kind(s) of income was it?
