Can a Company with Investment Business Have Pretrading expenses?

Postby HectorsFolly » Thu Mar 29, 2018 11:42 am

HI,

Can a holding company with ostensibly investment business activities have pre-"investment" expenses in the same way as trading and property businesses can? (such that they are then claimed on the first day that the chargeable activity commences).

I have never been asked the question before, but am finding it difficult to prove the facility doesn't exist, if you see what I mean.

Thank you

Do you have any pre-investment expenses in mind?
