CGT/PRR main home nomination.

I wonder if a couple's joint nomination necessarily ends at separation/divorce even if one might move out? Despite this it may well be financially advantageous for the nomination to continue. And anyway some such couples do continue to live in the same property.

Also -- although couples can only nominate one home for PRR two separate individuals can have one main home each an so they must jointly nominate the same one. On the other hand two separate individuals can have one main home each.

But can those two individuals still choose, instead, to nominate the same main home - ie. as though they were actually couple and thus obliged to do so?

Thanks.
