New build in garden

Postby Verytaxed » Thu Jun 07, 2018 3:54 pm

Hi I hope someone can give me some advice please,
I would like to self build a new home in my garden (planning permission has been granted) with the intention of living in it as our prime residence, and then to selling our old house and remaining garden which has other planning consents attached, as the total garden exceeds the half hectare limit would there be capital gains tax to pay?
