I purchased shares in Sage Group in 1990 and have made a capital gain of just over £17,000. Do I have to pay CGT on the excess over my annual allowance?

Thank you. Seems unfair that cost of living index is not taken into account.

True but last time it was, cgt was 20/40% rather than the 10/20% it is now (ignoring the short lived taper relief).
