CGT on rental house sale

Postby Pluto » Wed Jul 11, 2018 2:07 pm

I own a property in London. I lived in it for 11 years (1996-2007) I then moved to Glasgow but kept the house. I have let the house since then. I live in a house I own in Glasgow. I am thinking of moving back into the house in London next year as my primary residence. If I live there for (say) a year will I still have to pay CGT on the time the London house was let (approx 11/12 years) if I sell the property say in late 2020?

Yes. But you'll get PPR and letting Relief.
With a pinch of salt take what I say, but don't exceed your RDA
