Question about gift payments

Postby Khurram » Tue Sep 11, 2018 7:42 pm

Hello,
I am a UK resident. My father is based abroad and runs a business. He wants to set up to give me gift money. He has clients who he invoices and wants to provide them with my banking details such that I receive a partial proportion of this amount as a gift from my father but paid into my account on an adhoc basis through his clients rather than him transferring across the money to me (to save international transfer fees and ease of convenience). Where will I stand in terms of application of UK tax on this gift amount. Please advise.
