Ex pat returned from germany

Postby Stu69 » Fri Oct 12, 2018 6:29 pm

Hi, I lived and worked in Germany from 1998 to 2011 paying into the German system. I moved back to the Uk in 2011 and am wondering what happens with the income tax I paid over those years? And am I able to claim it back? Also how? Any help or advice would be appreciated 👍

If you left the UK do you think you would be able to claim back all the tax you paid up to the day you left?

Money you paid towards German social security may entitle you to a pension in Germany when you hit retirement age, but you're unlikely to get any tax back.
