Temporary Investment for Three Months for Excess Cash?

I am selling a portfolio of properties and the fairly large sum of money will sit in my bank account for about three months until I am able to invest the funds again. I was wondering if anybody knew the best place to invest these funds for a temporary period so that I can at least match if not beat ...

Possible to Buy Top End House in Good Condition at Reduced Price from Auction?

I'll soon have some cash and will be looking to buy a house for myself in the south-east of England. The auctions I've looked at and previously bought properties from generally have properties that have been neglected or not in the best of areas. Are there any auction houses that have top quality pr...

Seeking recommendations on specialist tax advisors

Apologies if this is the wrong section to post this enquiry. I'm seeking to invest a fairly large sum in equities and bonds etc. and would like to create a tax-efficient structure to wrap the investments in. I've spent a good while looking online for tax experts, but there's so many out there and th...

Seeking a professional tax expert please

I'm looking to sell a portfolio of UK properties and invest a fairly large sum into equities etc. from which to receive an annual 'retirement' income. I've been advised that I need to set-up a legal, tax efficient structure within which to invest this capital, so that I'm not 'over-paying' taxes. I ...

Re: Properties sale prices - what's the state of the market?

Thank you very much for the feedback. It's useful to get other people's opinions. I've consistently achieved sale prices in the past that so-called experts thought was simply not possible. But the current market is very difficult due to the raft of government tax hikes and red-tape introduced on the...

Properties sale prices - what's the state of the market?

I have had enough of problems with, on one hand tenants who endlessly mess me about, and, on the other, the government's never-ending attacks on the BTL and property sector. Therefore, I'm trying to sell our BTL properties. They all based in outer London and Hertfordshire and range in price from £40...

Re: Is Tax Expert Advice / Consultancy VATable?

Thank you for the response.

I'm in the UK and the service provider is in the UK. They are a fairly large outfit, so I'm certain they would be over the VAT threshold.

I'm just wondering if this service is normally VATable or not? I've not heard of it being exempt (but it'd be great if it was).

Is Tax Expert Advice / Consultancy VATable?

I spoke to a tax expert at a long-standing UK financial / taxation consultancy and he stated categorically that the tax advice / consultancy he provides will not be subject to VAT. I hadn't heard of that before. However, another tax expert has just told me he would add VAT on his tax consultancy cha...
