Or within 1 month of transfer? Also is it now simpler to calculate the cgt after new rules? Will I need to get ...

Hi, one other question please, currently have 50/50ownership with my sister, if I were to change this to 99/1 to my share, am I right in thinking we don't have to pay cgt until we sell? Although I'm higher rate tax payer I would still benefit by 10% on SA as I'm currently now paying excess earnings ...

Re: Additional Pension contributions to reduce 40% tax

Hello, thanks, I won't have a mortgage soon so can afford to pay in 1500pm for next 5 years. I would want to transfer the amount saved in avc pot to external provider, take 25% lump sum tax free and the rest take as drawdown over 4 or 5 years from a possible 80k pot. Do I need to make sure I reduce ...

Re: Additional Pension contributions to reduce 40% tax

I have also started paying extra into avc's May I ask is it better to pay more ie to reduce ones taxable pay to under 50k to benefit from 40 % tax relief?
My average yearly earnings are around 52k and I will be paying 1500 per month into Avc, after picking up my pension this Oct (15k per year)
