Re: Setting up a new business *Help??*

Hi

Yes you can receive a tax deduction most likely under the Annual Investment Allowance

Refund will only be due if the business is not making any profit and you can offset the loss against previous years PAYE

Kind Regards

Re: UK Tax on non-resident person working in UK

Hi Mikey

If the employment relate to UK Duties then PAYE should apply from day one. They should be able to get the personal allowance

In certain circumstances they could apply for double tax treaty relief but doubt this applies here.

Kind Regards

I would check on the inheritance tax status in Serbia too since your father was living in the property. Just thinking a...

Re: CGT - non resident landlord returning to UK

Hi On your questions 1/Should I return to the UK and become resident before or after April 6th 2015 to minimise CGT liabilities or deosn't it matter? Doesn't matter -Better to sell the property before you arrive in the UK as I understand the gain will be split between non-chargeable and chargeable. ...

Re: Selling property in Serbia

Hello CGT would be payable from the value of the property in 2011 to the date of disposal since you are UK resident. No tax would be payable on transfers since you are domiciled here hence remittance basis would not apply. If you were non domiciled then it maybe in your favour when selling your over...

Re: Split residency throughout tax year

Hi Becca Without all the facts it would be difficult to guage if you were resident or non resident in the tax year or if split year applies. Under the Statutory Residency Test (SRT) there are eight cases and case 5 & 8 would apply to you to decide if you were resident or non resident https://www.gov...

Re: Wife Selling Property In Italy

Hi Monarch I think you would be caught up under the relevant person concept and hence any remittance would be taxed on you http://www.hmrc.gov.uk/manuals/rdrmmanual/rdrm33030.htm She would not be taxed if she transferred the funds while non resident. An offshore bank account should be considered. Ki...
