As a non-resident you are liable to CGT on a sale of your property. There are three methods of calculating any capital gain on a sale and in your case the so-called "default" method is most likely to mitigate any CGT charge ie property revalued as at April 2015 and only any gain arising thereafter ...

hi peter would HMRC district valuer be able to make an accurate valuation of a property 5 years in the past

C.G.T. house valuation

Hi im a non resident landlord the recent changes to C.G.T. now mean im liable, i just wondered if i should get my property valued incase i decide to sell in the future, and if so does the H.M.R.C. require it to be valued by any particular persons/ authority.
