Can gift cards be written off?

Postby malwina » Tue Oct 17, 2017 1:06 am

Hi,
I am all new to the business tax etc so I was hoping to get some help from professionals...
I have got a question about prize draws and gift cards. Our company is thinking of offering a gift card prize draw i.e. from Next. Our customers would be asked for a review to take part in the prize draw. Is it possible to pay no Tax when purchasing such gift cards for a lucky winner? If so, where do we purchase them from? Would a local store be okay? What category would it be under? Advertising?
I'd appreciate your advice!
Thanks
M.M.
