Problem claiming SEIS reinvestment relief

Postby aptax » Fri Feb 16, 2018 2:13 pm

Tax Year 2016-2017
HMRC online Self-Assessment

Capital Gain = £20000 (Listed Shares)
SEIS subscription = £9000

I have claimed SEIS income tax relief and tax has been refunded. Now I am trying to claim SEIS reinvestment relief against the above Capital Gain.

In CGT pages, in box 28 inserted OTH and in box 40 inserted £4500 (50% of £9000). The problem is the HMRC online Self-Assessment tax calculator ignores the box 40 value and the Gain is not reduced.

Is there still a problem with the HMRC tax calculator -or- Do I need to separately claim the SEIS reinvestment relief in the attached CGT calculation document.

Thanks very much
