UK Expat , how long can I spend in UK in a year

Just wondering what the current issues are for an expat spending time in UK , I have read 90 days , but keep coming across 183 days ,

First check out the automatic tests for residence / non-residence. If none apply, you have to consider how many "UK ties" apply to you for the year and consult the tables on page 29.
