Cost of items to review

Postby LC98 » Mon Sep 03, 2018 8:17 pm

Hi

For tax purposes, am I able to claim for part of the cost of items that I buy to review on my blog ?

I've read that I can't claim all of the cost, as there is some private use (which I understand). If I buy say a mobile phone, or some tech and then review this to drive views on my review blog, can I claim a percentage as a business expense for my blogging ?

If I can, does anyone have any idea how I arrive at the percentage ?

Thanks

LArry

Is the blog run as a commercial enterprise with a realistic expectation of profit? That is the first test.
