Completed my 06/07 tax return and received a self assessment statement (1.4.08) showing amount overdue £27.50

Received another SAS (14.5.08) showing amount overdue £182.22

It turns out when R&C have checked my P11D for year end 5.4.07 it shows £686 benefit for car allowance, which they appear to have taxed me £150 + int for?

Although my tax code for 2007/08 went from 482L to 476L showing the taxable expenses payments -£686

Does this mean I have been billed twice?

It does rather look like it : phone the number on your statement and explain that this was collected through your 2007/8 code and hopefully that will sort it out.

Rang R&C spent 45mins on phone but still they will not accept I have already paid tax on benefit.

Is there anything I can do as it is incurring interest daily.
