Flooring Costs

Postby wokers » Sun Jul 26, 2015 1:30 pm

Hi,

With the changes in recent years and having read the various postings on this site I am confused on the tax deductibility of replacing flooring in one of my properties. All the flooring in the property was replaced as follows :-

1. Laminate flooring was installed to replace worn out carpet in bedrooms/living rooms and vinyl in the kitchen
2. Vinyl flooring was replaced in the bathrooms on a completely like for like basis

Am I able to claim for this against tax ?

Does the property qualify for the 10% W&T (Wear and Tear) Allowance?

no - should have mentioned that!
It is unfurnished and so does not qualify for W&T
