Thank you so much for your reply.

If I have to fill in a return for 50% of the rent which would then mean no reservation of benefit occurs I am happy to do that.

Because my mother since 2016 after we moved out of this house and has been paying tax on the full amount of rent received I imagine I can’t do anything about those tax years from 2016 till present, I.e I can only fill in a return going forwards and that would mean a new 7 year period would begin for the PET?.
