FHL - Car

Postby chillertwist » Tue Oct 14, 2025 12:43 pm

I have a client that wants to claim CA's on the car that they have leased. I've not seen this on an FHL before and can't imagine it would be allowable because there would be a massive private use adjustment and it would be difficult to determine the private use if HMRC asked? I know it's technically a business, and you could technically do this, but seems cleaner to just claim mileage to the properties at 45p per mile? Has anyone ever had this scenario? The client is quite determined to try and push the car through

He is saying that the business useage is 80-85% of the use of the car. 4 FHL properties.
