SDLT with two partial purchasing parties?

Postby fabiusmaximus » Fri Jul 26, 2019 5:55 pm

Hi all,

Does anyone know how SDLT functions under the circumstances in which two people are each purchasing 25% of a property from a third party? Do both benefit from independent thresholds of SDLT, or do both together count towards one payment threshold?

Would this be different if one of the purchasing parties were a trust, of which the second purchasing party is the beneficiary?

Thanks for your help,

FM

For clarity, the value is in the region of £2m, and the property is the principal private residence of the current occupant and owner
