We are buying a house which has one title however has been split into 3 flats with separate council tax. This will be our main residence but can we get multiple dwelling stamp duty discount and then we come to sell the property given we would sell it as one title would we have to pay additional capital gains even though it's our main residence but three flats.

Are you buying three dwellings that will remain as three dwellings? If so, MDR will apply. If you convert or use as a single dwelling, MDR is not appropriate.

CGT will not apply if the whole area is used as your residence.
